Organizers, including the US Mine Safety and Health Administration, US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, West Virginia Coal Association and West Virginia University, are seeking submissions in coal as well as hard rock, aggregates and industrial minerals.

Technical papers are being sought on such topical areas as longwall and highwall mining, roof bolting and design, modeling, pillar design and extraction, multiple seam mining and room and pillar issues, among others.

Abstracts are due by January 8, 2010. Those authors accepted for the event will be notified just a few weeks later, by February 12.

The selected papers must be sent to organizers by May 7 and the papers receiving final acceptance for the sessions will be notified on or before June 11.

The 29th International Conference on Ground Control in Mining will once again be held at the Lake Scanticon Resort and Conference Center in Morgantown, West Virginia, on July 27-29, 2010.
