“This is the primary coal event for the state of West Virginia,” WVCA’s Sandi Davison told International Longwall News recently.

“Usually [it has] an attendance of 400-plus, giving the attendees the opportunity to interact as well as hear about the upcoming legislative issues that will be before the legislature.”

Davison said registrations are continuing to come into the office and the venue, the Charleston House Holiday Inn, has space for 12-15 vendors who wish to share their products and services with the coal mining community.

The group said it cannot yet confirm the keynote speakers because of a “positive response” by those contacted, but it will be verifying those in the near future. It also urges those who haven’t confirmed their lodging at the event’s host location to do so soon, as the room block and special pricing of $72 plus tax per night expires January 3.

Registration for the event includes entrance to technical sessions, sponsored meals and breaks, admittance to the exhibitor area and a legislative reception. Those interested in registering, exhibiting, advertising or sponsoring a portion of the event may contact Davison at sdavison@wvcoal.com or by phone at (304) 342-4153.

Keep watching International Longwall News for the finalised itinerary as well as coverage from the event.
