The job fair in Hazard is scheduled for January 7 from 10am to 5pm at the Kentucky Career Center JobSight.

Patriot officials will be present to discuss job opportunities and accept resumes – all applications are asked to bring mine certifications as well.

Previous job fairs attracted about 350 miners and of those events – held in Hazard, Pikeville and Harlan – approximately 120 have already been hired by Patriot.

The Eastern Kentucky concentrated employment program, which oversees HOME, provides federally funded jobseeker and employer services across 23 counties of the Appalachian Kentucky coalfields.

In addition to helping unemployed miners find work, the group is aiding them in finding new career options and helps to cover costs for classroom training.
