The event is set for November 21 from 10am to 5pm at the Harlan Center, Harlan.

“Patriot officials will be on hand to accept resumes from miners and discuss underground mining job opportunities available at their Highland Mine in western Kentucky,” EKCEP director of expansion and public relations Michael Cornett said, adding that only black hat underground miners are being sought at this time.

Anyone attending the fair is asked to take resume copies and proof of mine certifications.

Last month, the producer held job fairs with the Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program and the Kentucky Coal Association in Hazard and Pikeville and attracted about 200 applicants interested in working at the Henderson complex in western Kentucky.

HOME and EXCEP provide federally funded job-seeker and employer services in 23 counties in the Appalachian Kentucky coalfields. HOME also helps unemployed miners to determine new career options and covers costs associated with classroom training.
