The agreement between EmberClear Reserves and Swatara Coal gives EmberClear access to the land in Reilly township, Schuylkill County, so that officials may determine its suitability for its project plans.

No financial details of the deal were disclosed. The option is for a one-year term, subject to extension and termination provisions, and EmberClear has the option to purchase all mineral and resources including water rights, rails, rights of way and needed permits.

Should the company commence coal extraction from the Pennsylvania property, the name of which was not provided, it will pay coal royalties on a monthly basis.

EmberClear chief executive officer Albert Lin noted the land’s strategic proximity to its Good Spring and Walacavage properties.

“The opportunity to acquire additional assets supporting our advanced coal projects improves our position in creating economically sound low-emissions energy for this country. We are excited to continue building leading edge projects in this great Pennsylvania community.”

EmberClear merged with Future Ventures to form EmberClear Corporation, which is publicly traded, to develop advanced carbon-based gasification projects using various technologies. It also holds options to lease land, coal deposits, technology licenses, a permitted IGCC plant and other assets.
