Conference chairman and convenor Naj Aziz told ILN the deadline for abstract submissions was August 24 and November 2, 2012 for full paper submissions.

“We strongly encourage papers from coal mine operations, as well as applied and fundamental coal mining research,” he said.

Papers are particularly invited that address ground control and strata management, longwall recovery or roof fall rehabilitation and mine ventilation, mine dust, mine gas drainage and outburst control.

The conference is also seeking papers on coal geology, roadway development, underground mining methods and equipment and machinery innovations.

Instrumentation and monitoring and rock bolting, cable bolting or other roof support techniques will also be covered at the conference, as will mine subsidence and mine fires and explosions.
