White Energy Coal North America, together with energy supplier NRG Power Marketing and coal miner Buckskin Mining Company, has completed a feasibility study on constructing the plant.

The plant will be located at the Buckskin mine in Wyoming and will use White Energy’s patented coal upgrading technology which is capable of producing 1 million tons per annum of binderless coal briquettes.

Following the completion of the feasibility study, which looked at the economic, technical and logistical viability of constructing the plant, the three parties have entered into a negotiation phase to get the plant up and running.

White Energy holds an exclusive licence for the binderless coal briquetting process which upgrades lower rank coal to increase its energy efficiency.

The company is in the process of commercialising the technology and is currently constructing a 1Mtpa plant in Indonesia with joint venture partner PT Bayan Resources.
