The Queensland Mines Inspectorate today put out a safety alert on the sensors, asking all mines to investigate the monitors if used in their operations.

It said the manufacturer’s procedure should be used to identify the devices covered by the recall.

The recall was made after it was revealed a failure mode had been identified in the 4CF.

“It may show as an unexpected, catastrophic loss of sensitivity, inhibiting the sensor’s ability to detect and respond to carbon monoxide,” the inspectorate said.
