Gibson encouraged those involved in roadway development including operators, trades, team leaders, ERZ controllers/deputies, development coordinators and engineers, superintendents and mine managers to attend.
The regional workshops are the fifth in a series convened by the ACARP Roadway Development Task Group (RWDTG) and will be held August 26 in Pokolbin, New South Wales, August 27 in Penrith, NSW, and August 29 in Mackay, Queensland.
To be addressed at the workshops will be mine and roadway development challenges at the Pike River mine in New Zealand; remote mining under outburst conditions at Appin Colliery; roadway development challenges faced at Tahmoor Colliery; roadway development at Oaky North; and beating water at Integra Coal.
From the suppliers side will be updates on process based management in development operations by Mine Consulting Services; specialist equipment for roadway development challenges by Waratah Engineering; and optimising the face cutting and support cycle to sustain sub-6 minute cycles by Sandvik.
