Consulting industry leader joins SRK Australasia

SRK Consulting (Australasia) has appointed Mark Noppe as a corporate consultant based in its Brisbane office.

With more than 30 years in the industry experience, Noppe is highly regarded in the mining and geoscience consulting industry, SRK managing director Chris Woodfull said.

“Mark is a resource and mining geologist known for his professionalism and high quality of advice and industry engagement with the minerals industry and its investors, across a range of commodities and mining project development stages,” he said.

“He also has a track record for pulling together strong technical teams to deliver on client needs.

“We welcome Mark's extensive technical and consulting experience and believe his demonstrated focus on client delivery will readily complement SRK’s capability and client solutions both in Australia and internationally.”

Noppe began his career at Anglo American before moving to consulting in 1997, initially with Snowden in Perth then successfully established a consulting team for the company in Brisbane. In 2009, Mark founded Xstract Mining Consultants, since acquired by Calibre.

His areas of expertise include technical advice, project reviews, due diligence and audits, as well as training and mentoring in all aspects of orebody knowledge, from exploration, resource definition and reporting, mine geology and grade control through to inputs into reserving and feasibility studies.

His technical experience covers a wide range of commodities and geological, geographic and mining settings and he has consulted on projects in Africa, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, Asia including China, and North and South America.

Noppe is a CP (Geo), a Fellow of The AusIMM (2015 chair of the Consultants Society of the AusIMM), a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is active in providing professional development training and mentoring to the industry.

He has previously held positions as chairman of the Southern Queensland branch of the AusIMM, chairman of the Geostatistical Association of Australasia and secretary of the Geostatistical Association of South Africa.

Noppe has an MSc in exploration geology from Rhodes University, South Africa.
