The Beizao coalmine will be situated in Bohai Bay in east China's Shandong province. The project is scheduled to get underway by the fourth quarter.

State media reported repeated exploration and studies have proven the undersea part of the coalfield covers an area of some 150 square km with a reserve of around 800 million tonnes.
