Cumnock output down 31%

Cumnock Coal reported that its total raw coal production for the June quarter was down 31% compared with the same period in 1999.

Production during the quarter was affected by a longwall relocation, the company said.

In the six months to June, total underground ROM production was 35% up on the same period last year. Underground production totalled 1.4 million tonnes (1Mt in 1999).
