MTG's cast lips are one of the most advanced G.E.T. elements, especially designed for providing maximum productivity and durability in mining applications.

With a total of 10 options for inside buckets widths ranging from 116" to 201", MTG is offering a wide product range for mining excavators with an operating weight of 250-1.000 t.

Since the first cast lip was launched, MTG's cast lips have shown an outstanding performance in iron ore, coal, copper and gold mines around the world: Several years in the market without incidents, with an average increase in productivity of 4% reducing operational costs, as well as a considerable increase in machine availability due to less and shorter downtimes. Facts that speak for themselves and underline the advanced technology of the our cast lips.

What makes MTG CAST LIPS special?

Among others, there are three main reasons for the outstanding performance of MTG's cast lips:

  • MTG cast lips are made with the highest quality MTG Steels made in Europe with an optimal balance of hardness and toughness which provides maximum strength and wear resistance.
  • Its state-of-the-art design with optimized wear material distribution, reduced weight and increased penetration. Along with the self-sharpening design of its equipment, guarantee a steady penetration along their wear life.
  • Large contact areas for cast lip specific G.E.T. with round transitions for lip shrouds distribute stress evenly and further strengthen critical areas, reducing plastic deformation at critical areas and preventing the generation of cracks.

Full Bucket Wear Packages

To complete the cast lip wear package, MTG offers the high-performance TWINMET tooth system in combination with reliable PROMET lip and wing shrouds. Thus, our cast lips critical areas are optimally protected by MTG's specific G.E.T. to increase the cast lip's wear life and reducing rebuild needs. Depending on the customer requirements, the G.E.T. package can be optimized for penetration or heavy-duty applications.

GET DETECTION compatible

The MTG's cast lips are MFS enabled to incorporate sensors for the TWINMET and PROMET system, allowing the use of GET DETECTION. The first series of MTG DIGITAL SOLUTIONS provides real-time monitoring and immediate alarm in the unlikely case of a GET detachment for maximum safety, reduced unplanned downtimes and higher productivity of mining excavators.
