THANKS to recent rains coal barging from the Krajan Jetty to the Batu Tuhup Jetty at Cokal’s BBM mine in Indonesia has restarted after a period of low water levels made it unsafe.

Three barges have already completed the trip.

Cokal said scheduling of customer barges to collect coal from the Batu Tuhup Jetty had become the primary focus.

"Water levels have now risen to safe operating levels from recent rainfalls," it said.

"First revenue will be realised by Cokal upon the loading of BBM coal onto customer barges at the Batu Tuhup Jetty."

Cokal said BBM's new mining contractor is readying to start a first cut ahead of schedule, with their commissioning of mining equipment being finalised.

"Additional equipment is on its way to the BBM Mine from the Batu Tuhup Jetty," it said.
