The personnel transporter, which was carrying a full load of passengers, was stopped to allow the LHD to pass in the drift.
As the LHD passed the transporter, the pod being carried by the LHD clipped the rear of the personnel transporter.
The NSW Resources Regulator said the incident resulted in minor injuries to one of the passengers.
"Mine operators should review their procedures for vehicles passing in an underground roadway," the regulator said.
"Workers must ensure safe clearances can be maintained when passing in underground roadways.
"Where clearances cannot be maintained, shunting procedures must be followed."
