Top names from BHP Billiton include vice president of mine optimisation Gavin Yeates and president of corporate affairs Tony Cudmore, while Rio Tinto head of innovation John McGagh will address the conference on the company’s critical advances in mine automation.

Conference director Siobhan Corry said she was very pleased at the response IMARC had received from the world’s biggest iron ore miners.

“Iron ore is one of Australia’s, and indeed the world’s, most significant commodities and we are proud to present a list of speakers capable of providing expert analysis from globally successful iron miners,” Corry said.

Base metals giant MMG will be represented by Andrew Michelmore and Fortescue Metals Group will have its CEO Nev Power on hand to provide a keynote address.

Vale executive director of ferrous and strategy José Martins is also scheduled to present.

In addition to the host of publicly listed iron ore miners, investors are certain to gain new insights from Garry Korte, chief financial officer at privately operated Roy Hill.

IMARC has been described by Deputy Premier of Victoria Peter Ryan as joining the list of “grand slam” mining events, with keynote presenters rivalling the significance of other global resources conferences such as Canada’s PDAC, Chile’s Expomin and China Mining.
