With the addition of Gooding’s operations in Kentucky, Illinois and Missouri, United Central will now operate 28 locations in those states as well as Alabama, Colorado, Indiana, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming and western Canada.

The combined company has a staff of about 350 workers.

“The addition of Gooding enhances our ability to better serve the Midwestern mining community with our portfolio of premium products and services designed to help North American mine operators deliver more tons, lower costs, improve safety and enhance operational efficiencies,” United Central president and chief executive officer Darrell Cole said, noting that the company would also benefit from the addition of Gooding’s knowledgeable staff and experienced management.

Gooding mining division leader Dennis Monarch will continue to manage the arm’s operations. He has served in the role for 15 years, and said the companies’ customers would see a “seamless transition” thanks to the depth of industry experience and customer service commitment both share.

United Central, founded in 1974 to serve the mining and tunneling industries, has seen a steady pace of growth over the last 37 years; its past acquisitions include Central Supply, Buchanan Supply, Erwin Supply, R&H Service and Supply, National Mine Service, A&C Cable and Equipment, Triune and Persinger Supply.

Gooding Rubber was established in 1948 and has been a major supplier of industrial rubber for mining and industrial customers in the Midwest.
